Until last Friday, rising crude oil and octanol prices briefly pushed the DOTP market up. However, this recovery did not last due to weak demand from downstream processors.
Currently, the domestic DOTP price in China is around CNY 8,300/MT (delivered to East China), which is about USD1,225/MT. Considering 13% of VAT refund, Chinese export offers are expected to stay around USD 1,080–1,085/MT FOB China.
Looking ahead, major economies are tightening their budgets. Because of this, demand in the housing and automotive sectors is expected to be weaker in the second half of 2026 compared to previous years.
Korean DOTP manufacturers are holding heavy inventories now, struggling to liquidate, however the offer prices are still on much higher side than Chinese.
